A few years ago, the West Creston Community Hall Society decided to give some money back to the youth of the Community and started a Bursary Fund. Each year the fund awards a $250 bursary to a deserving student of West Creston.

To qualify for the bursary, a student must follow the Application Guidelines outlined below. GOOD LUCK!

Who can Apply:   To apply, student must;
  • Attend post-secondary education within one year of graduation,
  • Reside in Area C,
  • Demonstrate community involvement,
  • Be a member of the West Creston Community Hall Society,
  • Enclose a transcript or other record of their academic work, and
  • Submit an essay of 100 words or less on "Why community involvement is important" and outlining their past community activities.
Application Deadline:   Bursary applications may be submitted at any time prior to the deadline of May 16th. A bursary Application Form will be available from the Prince Charles Secondary School or applications may be submitted without the form but with a covering letter. Drop off your application at Mugmumps Country Store, c/o Al McLaren.

The Selection Process:   All applications are reviewed by the Selection Committee and checked to ensure they meet the minimum requirements. The candidate with the best overall submission, as determined by the Selection Committee, will be awarded the bursary. The committee's decision is final.

Presentation:   The Bursary will be presented to the successful candidate at a Community Celebration Dinner in June.
